What populates within your mind? What lives within every cell of your body? What dominants? No, I’m not talking about aliens. Although they might as well be. “They” are just as unfamiliar as sneaky enemies that lie within the deepest crevices and darkest corners ready to take action at any given opportunity. “They” are our thoughts. Our thoughts are the foundations of all realities. As we persist and insists again and again, to believe, to think what is true, becomes true to us. No doubt about it, right? Then why would we believe we are not smart enough, not thin enough, not beautiful enough, not lovable enough? Where do these insecurities come from? Is the media to blame? Are your peers to be at fault? Your parents? Who’s to blame for all this negativity?
Our thoughts can be our friends instead of our enemies that help build solid foundations to our realities. Thoughts can hurt and heal at the same time. Choose to heal yourself.  If the anticipation of fear, distress, pain and everything bad can invade our mind and world, an equal amount of energy and power is available to anticipate all that is good. Elect to activate it. At any given moment we can flip that switch from – to + . The choice is yours, focus  all your thoughts and energy on the good. For example, if you obsess about sadness, be just as obsessive about smiles. Think of all the ways you can smile, where you can smile, what you can smile about, how you can smile, and who to smile at? Act on self motivating thoughts as you would act on self destructive thoughts. Let good things and things you enjoy, plague your mind as your worse fears and nemesis. Enjoy these new thoughts instead of fearing the old thoughts. Go to war with Negativity and free your mind to Positivity. Just as you are the creator of your unhappiness you can be the creator of your happiness.

Sleep, ummm I love it! I slept very well last night. I think 10hrs. That’s a first in a long time especially at my rental place where noise keeps me awake. It helps a bit to have one housemate away on vacation. I love sleeping and dreaming so much, I use to really look forward to dreaming when I could sleep. Hopefully with more sleep I can start dreaming those cute dreams I use to have again ^_^

Have you ever had one of those moments? You are feeling fine, happy, mellow. Then, Wham! It hits you in the middle of the night. You are all alone in the dark… knitting, in my case :p. I started to wonder where my life is headed. Thoughts quickly spirals from one to another, thoughts that didn’t go anywhere but down. I looked on chat to see if I can talk to a friend, none. I pick up the cellphone, no batteries…and no charger ( I forgot it at home and I am at my rental room)…Aiya… so sad. I turn on my favorite Chinese drama online where it’s been stuck at a stand still for the past hour, it starts to plays to my surprise. The characters continued the scene. A chubby man and a cute lady were locked in a cellar by accident. The woman, scared crazy, was screaming madly for help. The chubby man speaks with a gentle robust voice (I’ll try to translate as best as I can), “A lot of times we seek out trouble. Sometimes we can not think through our thoughts. Then stop, don’t think, sleep and when awaken, think again.” He was like a Zen master who knew exactly what I was feeling at the moment. Although the movie scene was a bit disconnected, it spoke to me directly. “Problems will always come and go, just don’t dwell on it when you can’t solve it right away, take time, be patient, and slowly they will be solved”, that’s what translated to me when I heard him speak.
Being laid off many times left me stressed out with insomnia for the past 2 year. Even with a job I couldn’t sleep sometimes. It was odd how a few words at the right moment can settle storms within. In least expected places, minute things and words are surrounding, comforting and encouraging us. Pay attention to them, hold on to them, and use them to your advantage. I took his advice and slept like a baby last night.

Gas? Passing gas? ewww… My Car needs gas? You’re so close! What happens when you “add gas” to a vehicle? Your vehicle is filled with energy and ready to go further and faster. Right? Below are the two Chinese Characters that translates “Add Gas”.
åŠ , jiÄ, to add / plus
油, yóu, oil/fuel (you can say it means Gas too, Gas = Fuel)
“Add Gas” is a term/slang I learned, among Chinese friends, to cheer you on and to encourage you to keep it up. Or…just maybe…your car does need a refill 🙂

Focus on the basics and form simple good habits. Simple habits does not mean easy execution. Balance and regulate these habits religiously and you will see great improvements physically and mentally.
- eat = energize your body, with a healthy nutritious diet along with lots of water
- poop = detox your body, do #2 at least once a day
- sleep = rest your body, at least 8 hours a day
- exercise = move your body, at least 30 minutes a day
- play = rest your mind, form hobbies you enjoy
- work =Â move your mind, use, build and improve your knowledge
🙂 Like they say “what goes in must come out” and “If you don’t move it you loose it”, that goes the same for your body and brain. As for play and work, I’d like to play all day and not have to work. My work would then be playing which mean my play would actually be work…??? Overexertion or idleness are extremes. Always have the Ying with the Yang for an even balance.
